Like Pinot Noir, from which it descends, Gamay was introduced in Valais during the major restructuring of the vineyard in the 19th century. Rising up to 14 °, it is more powerful than Pinot and is equivalent to Merlot. This Gamay comes from very old vines that are almost half a century old.
