Pagan is the name given by the people of Valais to the white wine made from the Savagnin grape variety, also called Traminer. One of the mutations of this grape is the origin of Gewurztraminer. In Valais, Savagnin was mentioned from the middle of the 16th century in a report from the district of Visp, but seems to have been present for much longer. Its name would indicate that it came from before evangelism.

This Pagan, from old vines of xxxx age in Conthey, whose harvest of small grains gives a powerful wine and a good length in the mouth
